It’s the little things that matter. They may be good little things or bad little things, but they make the difference between fine and fantastic.
I was reminded of this when I recently received a power cord for my work desk, and didn’t have to crawl under my desk twice a day to plug and unplug my computer. Really silly little thing, right? But every day since then I have been pleasantly reminded of how nice it is for that cord to be there. Maybe not a fantastic change, but it certainly made a difference.
When there are little things that are not right, but are easily fixed, we should fix them. At the same time, we need to appreciate the little things that are right. When our favorite mug is ready for us to use, when a web button looks just right, or when we use a well designed door handle.
Take notice of the little things, they make the difference in our environment and things we interact with; and let’s make life a little better for ourselves and others, one little thing at a time.
