A little over 2 years ago, I started working at Classy Llama as a “Technical Assistant” (really creative title, I know). Over time, my role was more defined, and I became the Quality Assurance Guy. I always knew that QA was not something I wanted to pursue in the long run, and treated it as a stepping stone in my career. At the same time, QA has been an excellent place to get exposure and experience in working with the web, and has been key in confirming my passion to create beautiful and usable online experiences.
So my next step and big news is that I have accepted a summer User Experience internship at Slash Web Studios near Des Moines, Iowa. I’ll be leaving Missouri a week from today *gasp* and the internship will continue through August.
I’ve had several awesome mentors to guide me into the UX realm. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and I am so grateful for their encouragement and support.
My time at Classy Llama has been a wonderful journey of personal and professional growth, and I fondly think of my fellow llamas as friends, rather than just “coworkers”.
This will be a big change for me, and I am looking forward to what God has in store. As a completely random side note – the prospect of biking to work every day makes me giddy.
I’m super excited for this opportunity, and I feel incredibly blessed by the people I’ve met and experiences I’ve had here in Springfield.
